Creator Crowdfunding Guidelines
Maker Raise is built on radical transparency and backer trust. These guidelines ensure every hardware invention launched on our platform is technically feasible, ethically presented, and backed by escrow security.
Working Prototype Required
Photorealistic 3D renders alone are not sufficient. For physical hardware campaigns, creators must demonstrate an operating functional prototype (breadboard, 3D printed chassis, or PCB) in video before approval.
Global Identity & Creator KYC (Worldwide)
Makers from any country in the world can apply. Creators verify identity using their government-issued National ID, International Passport, Driver's License, or registered business/trade documents, supported by global payouts (Stripe, PayPal, Bank Wire, or bKash/Nagad).
Milestone Escrow Disbursements
Funds raised are held in Maker Raise Escrow. Capital is disbursed in structured tranches (Tooling & Materials → Assembly Proof → Shipping & Delivery) following backer progress reports.
Monthly Backer Updates
Creators must post at least one transparent project update every 30 days until all reward tiers are delivered. Delays, BOM price fluctuations, or firmware adjustments must be communicated openly.
Campaign Story & Bill of Materials (BOM)
Your campaign page must include a clear explanation of what the product is, who it is designed for, and how the target budget will be allocated. We strongly recommend publishing a transparent breakdown:
- Component & Component Sourcing (Microcontrollers, Sensors, Fasteners)
- 3D Printing Filament / CNC / Injection Molding tooling expenses
- Assembly labor & QA testing time
- Packaging & domestic or international courier logistics (DHL, FedEx, Steadfast, RedX)
- Maker Raise platform fee (5%) and transparent payment gateway processing fees
Prohibited Items & Content
Maker Raise strictly prohibits campaigns that involve:
